Tesla cabins heat up faster than gas cars because there's no engine to dump heat into. The glass roof on the Model 3 and Model Y makes it worse. The fix is nano-ceramic tint on every window.
Why ceramic for Tesla
- Range protection — less HVAC load = more miles per charge in summer
- Glass roof tint — drops cabin temperature 15–25°F
- Signal-friendly — Tesla relies on cellular, GPS and key card NFC. Metallic films can interfere; ceramic doesn't.
- No bubbles in the heated rear glass — we use Tesla-specific install techniques
Our shade recommendations
- Front 2 doors: 70% CA-legal ceramic
- Rear sides + back: 20% ceramic (matches factory privacy glass)
- Sunroof / glass roof: 70% ceramic — full coverage, blocks heat without darkening the cabin too much
Estimated install time
- Model 3 / Y: 2–2.5 hours
- Model S / X: 3 hours (more glass)
